Research
There is a growing amount of scientific research documenting the many benefits of yoga. This page will present some of the research. We also aim to conduct clinical research on yoga practices that will positively impact quality of life. The results of these studies will be shared through public events and on this site.

Programs
The more we experience and build our own inner peace, the likely we are to project this peace externally. This is an annual event for the community. Our celebration in NH coordinates the volunteer efforts of the areas best teachers and is family-friendly and all donation-based. This conference is 100% powered by volunteers and your donations from registration benefit important nonprofit causes.

The 4th Annual NH Yoga for Peace event was held on 10/1/11. Over 500 people enjoyed this special day of yoga at the beautiful Wellness Center, Nashua Community College, NH. Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau officiated the Children's Peace Poster Parade and Contest on the theme "what does peace look like?"  Over 35 teachers shared yoga and meditation for all ages and abilities, from absolute beginners to regular practitioners. A wonderful Wellness Marketplace helped guide all on their journey.  Click here to see photos.

Click here for the 2010 event - Click here to see photos - our 3rd annual event was held on Saturday, September 18! The largest yoga event in NH thus far, it was a joyful community collaboration, featuring over 35 of the area's best yoga teachers and kirtan artists at Nashua Community College with almost 400 people in attendance.

Our 2009 program was an intimate gathering where we shared japa practice, antar maun meditation and yoga nidra. Again this year, we joined thousands of people in yoga studios around the world who observed this global event for peace. So many people creating a space for peace, feeling the peace, and intending and extending peace!

The 2008 event was held at the Unitarian Church in Milford, NH.  23 yoga teachers of asan, pranayam, meditation, laughter yoga, bharatanatyam, etc. shared their expertise. Check this page for more information about the event and to see the photos!

In 2007, YogaCaps served by developing the web page for the Boston Yoga for Peace event and also as a raffle donor of a wonderful wall-size, tie-dye OM banner.
Yoga Volunteer Corps (YVC)
Sadhana through Seva! The YVC matches the volunteer efforts of yoga teachers with the following groups to share free yoga classes for the special populations listed below.  In October 2011, Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau recognized the YVC "for sharing their knowledge, talents and expertise in the countless benefits of the art of yoga". To see the full recognition, click here.

Thriving with Yoga - We share three weekly yoga classes with people who have or have had the experience of cancer and their caregivers.  Click here to learn more about the classes. Click here to read some of the outcomes.  This program started in December 2007.  We coordinate with many of the area hospitals (The Elliot Regional Cancer Center, Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Catholic Medical Center, St. Joseph's, Dana Farber) to add this wellness component to healthcare.

Senior Chair Yoga - Yoga promotes enhanced physical, mental and social well being for our seniors. This chair yoga class in Merrimack, NH has been the first yoga experience for most participants!

Yoga for Greater Nashua Mental Health Center - to enhance services for people experiencing a combination of chronic physical conditions and mental/emotional distress (depression, psychosis, anxiety or nervous disorders).

YogAbility - We have also shared yoga with people living with disabilities. This was the first yoga experience for all of these participants!

If you know of a group that may like to reap the benefits of free yoga classes, please let us know. If you are a yoga teacher and would like to share your seva, please contact us.
