Beyond Chair Pose: yoga @work
We coordinate/teach regular weekly classes in the corporate setting prior to/during/just after the work day. We design yoga @work programs that promote wellness, disease prevention and physical activity among your employees. Yoga helps empower employees to exercise their personal responsibility for overall health and is especially effective in promoting clarity and focus, building appreciation of others/teamwork, recognizing and managing anxiety and stress, and helping to alleviate the following issues: eyestrain, carpal tunnel syndrome, symptoms of allergies/sinus disease and back pain.
Yoga Volunteer Corps (YVC)
Sadhana through Seva! YVC matches yoga teachers with the following nonprofit groups to share free yoga classes for at risk or under-served populations:
Thriving with Yoga - One each week we share a 1.5 hour yoga class with women who have or have had a
diagnosis of cancer. Click here to learn more about the classes. Click here to read some of the outcomes.
This program started in December 2007.
Opportunity Networks - Providing innovation, choice and employment for people living with disabilities. They
have been serving Souhegan Valley and Greater Nashua folks and families for over 25 years. This is their first
yoga experience!
St. Joseph's Community Services - Dedicated to promoting better physical, mental and social well being of
older adults. They have been serving Hillsborough County since 1977. This chair yoga class in Merrimack, NH
will be their first yoga experience!
If you know of a group that may like to reap the benefits of free yoga classes, please let us know. If you are a yoga teacher and would like to share your seva, please contact us. Click here to see who some of our volunteers are!

Research
There is a growing amount of scientifc research documenting the many benefits of yoga. This page will present some of the research. We also aim to conduct clinical research on yoga practices that will positively impact quality of life. The results of these studies will be shared through public events and on this site.

Programs
2010 - Contact us to save a space for your yoga mat! We intend this to be a joyful community collaboration featuring the area's best yoga teachers.
Our 2009 program was an intimate gathering where we shared japa practice, antar maun meditation and yoga nidra. Again this year, we joined thousands of people in yoga studios around the world who observed this global event for peace. So many people creating a space for peace, feeling the peace, and intending and extending peace!
In 2008, we coordinated a New Hampshire bead for the 2008 global mala event. (A mala is a sacred circle of beads used for meditation). The more we experience and build our own inner peace, the likely we are to project this peace externally. 23 of the areas best yoga teachers for asan, pranayam, meditation, laughter yoga, bharatanatyam, etc. shared their expertise. Check this page for more information about the event and to see the photos!
In 2007, YogaCaps developed the web page for the Yoga for Peace event and also served as a donor.
