About Terry
Therese M Gupta, MSW, E-RYT
Terry's, aka Nikunj Priya dasi's, deep belief that we are all here to love and serve, and that each person makes a difference, manifested in over 25 years of experience in senior management positions in the nonprofit sector in the greater Boston area. She has extensive community mobilizing, program development, business development and special events experience, as well as service as a consultant and trainer.
An Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher with the National Yoga Alliance and member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, she has 10 years of experience sharing yoga.
With YogaCaps, she is blessed to combine these two paths: social action and yoga. Through our experience of the profound wellness that yoga brings, we are empowered to act as catalysts creating the world we all want to live in.
Terry has a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in social planning and management/administration from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. Together with Jay, her husband, she co-founded the all volunteer nonprofit, YogaCaps, Inc. She has served on the board of directors of several nonprofit organizations.
She is certified as a yoga teacher by Finding Inner Peace Yoga and the renown Bihar School of Yoga in India, where she also studied the advanced Tantric practices of Chakra Shuddhi and Prana Vidya. She has served on the faculty of several Yoga Teacher Training programs, including an Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Program, covering 15 yoga studios from the greater Boston to Cape Cod and RI areas.
A lifelong student, she travels regularly to India to deepen her experience and inform her practice. She has learned a number of Vedic healing techniques from revered Masters, is a Reiki Master and has received initiations at special sites in the Andes, Annapurna and the Himalayan Mountains ... Including the sacred journey to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar.
