Global Mala: Yoga for Peace in Action
September 18, 2010
YogaCaps, Inc. welcomes you to the 3rd Annual NH Global Mala: Yoga for Peace in Action on Saturday, September 18, 2010.
Observed in conjunction with the United Nation's International Day of Peace, Global Mala joins yoga practitioners all over the world to build the experience of peace within and experience the unity of the global community through yoga. Literally, we form a "mala" or circle around the earth through the collective power of these practices. A mala is a circle of 108 beads which is used in meditation. Each person (and all of our actions) is a bead on this sacred circle, as is each event location, each city/state/country, etc.! We are joined by the many micro/macro cycles within and all around us.
Presented by an inspired team of locally and nationally known teachers, you can select your own experience of the day from a range of topics. Join for all or part of the activities:
~ Many yoga and seating/walking meditation classes from the participating studios shown on the right.
~ A joyfulYoga Mela! featuring:
- 108 Sun Salutations
- Kirtan (call and response singing)
- Bharatnatyam (Indian temple dance)
- Hasya Rasa (laughter yoga!)
- Bhangra! (Indian folk dance celebrating harvest and abundance)
- 3 performances of "Magic Feather" by Blue String Marionettes
- Delightfully fun vendors, readers and raffle items!
~ Healthy vegetarian/vegan lunch options
